I live in Vauxhall now - it's nice, easy bus ride, walk or cycle to Victoria. I used to live on the Southbank (Southwark Bridge Rd) which was awesome as there's a lot to do around there, easy to get to Victoria and very central for going anywhere else in London. What kind of place are you looking for?
Or anywhere that brings you into Victoria I guess! I personally live just outside of Richmond. I'm 20mins from town and I'm about as close to London as I can be without feeling like it - if that makes sense?

Id say have a look around the Vauxhall area and then up and down the overground line from there...

Try: kennington, vauxhall, brixton, fulham. All walkable or short tube ride.

Thanks guys. Is there any source that would describe what kind of areas are they: lively, quiet etc. Tourist books seldomly do that for housing areas

I'm looking an area, which has 1. Easy commute to Google office 2. Some restaurants and bars around, but doesn't have to be super-lively.
I haven't set any limit to rent price yet, as I don't know what would be sweet spot for prices.
